The Community Nursing website provides access so some of the great projects we have developed to enhance the health of our community.

CHN students practice the roles and responsibilities of a community health nurse through:

• Working in partnership with community organizations to develop, implement, and evaluate a health project incorporating the principles of population health promotion, public health, primary health care, and community development

• Preceptoring with an RN that focuses on at least one aspect of community health nursing:
  • Population health
  • Health promotion
  • Health protection
  • Illness/injury prevention
